Table tennis rules and gameplay

The rules and play of table tennis (also known as billiards) vary depending on the type of billiards (such as ‌snooker, ‌nine-ball, etc.), but here are some general basic rules and play:

Basic rules*:
1. Competition venue and equipment:
Pool games are usually played on a rectangular pool table covered with green felt. ‌
The standard size of a pool table is approximately 2.74 meters long and 1.52 meters wide. ‌
There are balls in fixed positions on the table, and the number depends on the specific type of billiard ball.

2. Competition balls and clubs:
The balls commonly used in the game include the red ball, the colored ball (also called the colored ball or spot ball), and the white ball (also called the cue ball or cue ball).
A club is a tool used to hit the ball, usually made of wood or composite materials.

3. Competition goals:
The object of pool is to hit the white ball so that it collides with and hits other balls to accumulate points and win.

4. ‌Scores and ‌Fouls:
Each red ball scored into the bag is worth 1 point, and the scores for colored balls are different according to their colors.
Fouls include foul shots, missed shots, illegal shots, etc. The player who commits the foul can get extra scoring opportunities for his opponent.

5. Basic gameplay*:
Start: At the beginning of the game, players hit the white ball to make it touch other balls. If successful, the player continues the attack.
Continuous offense: Players can continue to attack after hitting other balls if there is no foul. Each attack usually involves hitting a red ball and a colored ball.
Turn-taking: Pool is a turn-taking game. When one player fails to score or commits a foul, it is the opponent's turn to attack.
Winning conditions: The winner of the game is usually the first player to accumulate enough points or complete the specified number of rounds.
In addition, different types of pool (such as snooker, nine-ball, etc.) have their own specific rules and gameplay. For example, in nine-ball table tennis, players need to pocket the nine balls numbered 1-9 in order, and the player who scores the last numbered 9 ball is the winner. ‌

Overall, the rules and gameplay of billiards vary depending on the type of billiards, but the basic rules and gameplay described above are universal. Players need to master the strength, angle, rotation and other skills of hitting the ball in order to hit the ball accurately and control the position of the white ball to get a better chance of scoring.
